The Kitsap Poggie Club has assisted the Suquamish Tribe for many years in Gorst hatchery operations. This hatchery has 4 concrete salmon rearing ponds and raceways along Gorst Creek and is part of the Bremerton/Gorst Watershed. This is a protected water source for the city of Bremerton and closed to the public. The public has the use of the Jarstad Park, located just North of this facility.

The Poggie Club volunteers provide the added manpower needed to process the returning Chinook (King), Coho (Silver) and Chum salmon. These volunteers help with trucking of salmon, fish harvesting, weekend fish feeders, annual ponds/raceway cleanups and other hatchery working party projects. This facility becomes opened to the public annually for the The Kitsap Poggie Club's The Kids Fishing Party" and "Kitsap Salmon Tours".
